What is Social Networking?
Social Networking is the best communication method used by the people of the 21st century....Oh yes!
It is the grouping of individuals into specific groups, like small rural communities or a neighborhood subdivision. Although social networking is possible in person, especially in the workplace, universities, and high schools, it is most popular online. This is because unlike most high schools, colleges, or workplaces, the internet is filled with millions of individuals who are looking to meet other people, to gather and share first-hand information and experiences.
Online Social Networking:
When it comes to online social networking, websites are commonly used. These websites are known as social sites. Social networking websites function like an online community of internet users. Depending on the website in question, many of these online community members share common interests in hobbies, religion, or politics. Once you are granted access to a social networking website you can begin to socialize.
Advantages of Social Networking
Good opportunities to find a job
The more people you meet and interact with, the more business opportunities you are likely to come across.
Nowadays the big companies have specialists on human resources that search for profiles in these kind of sites to recruit new collaborators. If you´re looking for job you can create a profile (a serious, professional and complete profile) and you might be discovered and recruited by a company. You can describe your capabilities and publish some of your works - and with a little luck you can find a job.
Build Relationships
Networking sites enable you to be your real self. While interacting with people online, you get to know them more and hence, break the ice. People trust one another which eventually lead to meaningful relationships. Networking sites are a means to bring you new opportunities, responsive followers and lifelong friends. With the help of advanced search tools you can find users who have the same interests you do and that can be the starting point of a great friendship and/or relationship.
Enables Mind-sharing and Insight
While interacting with people online, you get a unique perspective into their lives and their problems. You can help and advise them and in turn, you will receive feedback and trust, thus resulting in mind-sharing. Since social networking is human focused, it is a great atmosphere to get feedback, research and insight. Although people do not want to be told, forced, spammed or made to do anything but when you involve them, the entire environment changes.
Social networking allows people to get feedback about their job, the project they are currently involved in or the blog posting that they recently wrote. It becomes exceptionally easy to get feedback via social media.
Promoting Business
Apart from being fun, social networks can be used professionally. Many people utilize them to establish new business contacts and to promote their products and services. If you have a business or site you need to promote you can do it by creating a business profile on some of these networks. You can load images, your logo, etc. into your profile and it will be visible for your virtual friends and all the users who visit your profile.
